  • 11 days.

Sooo... I've got 11 days to go until classes end. Next week I have my finals, last one being on Friday from 10:30 to 12:30. This semester went by fast, just like every other semester in DVC. I've got one final tomorrow though, so I'm just taking a break right now.

Anyway, I've been working on an RPG (I'm making) and it's progressing well. I joined a team as the lead mapper (I model the maps that the characters will traverse in) and we'll be working on a slew of different projects. I guess the summer will give me a lot of time for this. We plan on going commercial, so our games will eventually be sold just like any other game out there, though they won't be super extravagant.

I'll be making a website soon for my personal project, so you all (all who?) can see it later. I wanted to mention it before, since I actually started production around February, but oh well. Good luck to everyone with their finals, and everyone looking forward to their finals.

  • Keep it up

So the worst of it is over. I've finished my exam for my music literature class, I've found out the date of my oral report (which is next tuesday). I finished reading the damn book (which was pretty good) and turned in my four poem responses and poem essay, and I'm also starting to get some free time without worrying about schoolwork. However there's one thing that just keeps slipping my mind.

I keep forgetting about everything to do with my transfer to UC Davis. This has to change, I still need to find housing, which is the number one most important thing I need to finish soon.

But other than that, I guess life is getting sweet again. I'm back to just a few assignments per day which is much more manageable than my previous long-ass-to-do-list. I wan't to finish this post with a poem I did for my english class. It was in response to "Sous-Entendu" by Anne Stevenson. Here's a link to her poem:
     Sous-Entendu

    My Eyes

I sincerely hope you don't find out
My eyes have taken an express route
Down your body and through your blouse
As if you're dressing in your house.

When our eyes meet I turn away
I think with strength, all else astray
Your head wanders throughout the room
I leave the lab to dig my tomb.

No it's not okay to republish this ;p why would you want to?

  • On the verge of doom

By doom I mean the sea. In an hour and a half I'll be on the C/V Cordell Explorer, a ship from DVC out on a cruise for my Oceanography class. We'll be applying everything we've learned thus far to this trip, which will last from 8:10 to 4pm. Thats 8 hours on a boat >>

Other than that, I've been pretty miserable lately, about classes. I have so much to do that's due next week that I feel completely overwhelmed. I won't start listing since usually they come out inaccurate. I'm mostly dreading that oral presentation on our books. It will take a maximum of 5 minutes per person. I guess it's not that bad, until you realize I've never spent even 3 minute in front of a class.

Anyway, will post again later. Also, please check the date of when I posted my last post.

  • Maxim makes miserable man

        Been awhile~

So I was just reading my latest issue of Maxim Magazine. I didn't buy it. I didn't subscribe to it, not really. I got coaxed into getting three free issues and ended up forgetting to cancel it. How stupid was that? Thinking back to when it actually happened, I was stupid for letting the clerk take advantage of me.

I went to Suncoast and bought something, I forgot what it was. While ringing up my items he asks if I want to get three issues of any two magazines listed on the counter. Getting my attention, I look down at the list. Very sparse. Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, nothing I really liked. That's the mistake most people make. They take an interest. Once you do this, you have to continue otherwise you feel like you led them on. They take this chance to give you more info. "You can cancel a few weeks from now or right before the three months so you won't get charged for the next subscription period."

That's about the last point where you can say "no thanks." Why didn't I just say that? I actually asked for Maxim, just because it was the only thing interesting. So yeah. Don't make eye contact and deny any interest as soon as possible.

  • Tennis and awkward don't mix

So this morning I went to tennis. My friend came. Some time later I notice near the gate her ex come in and sit. The whole time he was watching us play, which is kinda nerve-wracking when you like his girlfriend (i'm assuming they're back together, they didn't want to break up in the first place). Near the end of class I wanted to say hi to him, just to be friendly. Maybe break the ice a little bit, but I didn't. Instead I noticed my friend seemed like she didn't want the class to end, because I'd have to get close to the guy to leave, and not talking to her while they left isn't nice. So I just did all of us a favor and said bye early so they could leave earlier.
        Man =_=

  • This week... meh.

Jeez... This week is gonna suck. I have a midterm on Wednesday (moved back from today, thank god) and an essay due Thursday. All this taking into account the backlog of things I have to do school related, including read two books, finish 1 homework (that happens to be more like a project), study for another test next week, and play tennis every MWF. The last one isn't really a problem, but if I could just drop it (not because I don't like it), things would at least seem so much easier.

  • REM Sleep

So I haven't been trying to remember dreams lately. This is mainly because i'm just focusing on getting some sleep before the next horrible day arrives. I tried last night again, it worked of course, but since I wasn't trying as much as I should have, I hardly remembered anything.

You wanna try remembering a dream? It's easy, really. The trick, is to adjust your alarm to wake you up 3 hours after you fall asleep. Afterwards, set it to go off in another 2 hours, then another 2 hours. That's right. You can remember up to 3 dreams per night. This is due to the times when you have REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement). You have REM sleep 3 hours after you fall asleep, then every two hours afterwards until you wake up. Why do people who sleep well not remember anything? Because they sleep for 8 hours, meaning they ended REM sleep an hour earlier.

Set your alarm to go off 3 hours after you fall asleep. In my case, I fall asleep at 11 and I set it to go off at 2am. Now, just because you wake up doesn't mean you'll completely remember it. It will leave your mind VERY quickly. So, what you have to do is quickly hit the snooze button. Keep your eyes closed and recall every single event that happened in your dream. This will embed it into your memory so that it won't go away. Afterwards you can just set the alarm to go off 2 hours later (in my case, 4am). Repeat the process, and then set it in another 2 hours (6am for me). When you're completely awake, try to go through your dreams. I doubt you'll remember all 3 if its your first time. Some people decide to write down their dreams right when they wake up.

Well, I've done this a lot before, this isn't just me regurgitating something I found online so you know it works. You don't have to worry about nightmares. If it's that bad, it'll wake you up by itself with or without an alarm, so whether or not you try this you'll remember it. Try it, you might remember something pleasant ;D

  • Sometimes... thinking is good

So... What happens when you reformat your laptop, and forget to make a copy of all of your class and notes?

I am 'so' f*cked. I knew I should have double checked the files I copied. Man, all I copied were programs and reinstalls, I didn't even think of documents. Though most of the files I've already turned in, there were a few lectures in there that I NEED. Considering my score for my last test in my Oceanography class (a very very low B-) I'm going to need those notes if I want to keep my grade.

Eh. I know A is a high standard, but if I lower my standard any more I'm going to be slacking off more than I need.  Gotta aim high and shoot low =_=

  • Happy Valentines!... 30 mins ago

    hey ho! Happy Valentines!

I was gonna make this post earlier, but I was in class and the lecture just started. I also wanted to make a nice valentines pic but I didn't get to, and now that it's too late, I probably won't. So how was your Valentines? Did you get to spend it with someone special? I know I did! I've been neglecting my Xbox 360 lately, so I bought Lost Odyssey. It got really mediocre scores, but I have to say I love it so far. I love the "Thousand Stories" feature.

Anyway, other than that, not much happened. I ended up not asking anybody to go eat out with me. Then I found myself in one of those mistaken conversations a few times. You know, when someone automatically assumes something about you and you can't tell them the truth one way or another. My parents and my sister each asked me why I didn't treat my friend for lunch or something =_= Getting tired of these "accusations". It'd be so much easier if they just knew; "I'm not trying" "she likes someone else" and I guess "none of your f*ckin business".

But yeah >_> I'm really looking forward to this 3-day weekend. Should give me some breathing room, finally! Will post again soon, ciao~
